If only the Fed could print oil, or food, then we would be in good shape. What we need is a Fed Chairman who can conjure up oil, food and other commodities simply by waving his magic wand or waving his cape, or by reaching deeply into his big black hat -- no rabbits please -- just make the things that we as human beings consume every day magically appear out of thin air -- that would be nice. And make those greenhouse gasses go away -- and let everybody go to Harvard, the entire US population without harming its prestige or educational quality. I don't want leadership, tough choices, personal responsibility or any reason to believe that I should sacrifice a damn thing for the good of society -- I just want my free lunch, and I want it served hot and I want it served now -- come on, this is America, serve the free lunch already.
