It will be a scary day when the Republicans think they have to prop up the stock market to save SS, like they propped up the housing market to make the economy look like growth during the Bush jr. recessions.

I think what they will end up doing is raising the retirement age and increasing the amount of income subject to Soc. Sec. taxes. That won't really solve anything but it will put off the day of reckoning for another 50 years or so.

It seems like Medicaid and Medicare are the more pressing concerns right now.
