The CNN special proved ML King was murdered not by James Earl Ray, but by a rightwing conspiracy, probably headed up by J Edgar Hoover. Ray was used and paid lots of cash to travel around and play his part, but he was not the killer. I have been saying this for years. Hoover was the leader in the killings of the Kennedys and King. He is the only man with the motive, means and opportunity not just for the shootings, but the massive coverups. But he needed help and he got it from friendly rightwing CIA types and Mafiosos. What these killings did was prolong the Cold War by 20 years, gave us the Vietnam Quagmire and eventually turned us from the richest greatest creditor nation in history into the greatest debtor nation in history.
