Alright - reasons for picking Kootenay ktn.v a. Management - [from which all else flows] ... history of success with ngt.v/ggc.v/others, thoroughly competent in all respects imho, well connected [with Hughes group, but also with others], committed [good insider holdings and no options abuse], hard-working and dedicated ... worth noting that Ken Berry is very much a part of management as well as Jim McDonald, they function as a team, and Kootenay is their baby, principal focus and expected to be such for the foreseeable future b. Business model - three-pronged approach - 1. developing advanced properties, currently Promontorio, 2. prospecting/staking in both BC and Mexico, and 3. joint venturing higher risk/reward properties to increase exploration expenditure while minimising dilution c. Accomplishments to date - they're executing that model, had the beginnings of drillbit success at Promontorio, the generative side [look into category 2 above, it's very important] has come up with quite a number of highly prospective claims [of which ks.v just chose their six agreed picks, putting those into the class 3 JV category], and Astral has pulled some fine core on what they've done so far at JJ ... Kootenay has accomplished all this in very cost-effective manner, printing as little sharepaper as possible, they take seriously that 'minimising dilution' rule, which sets them up at this point with an attractive share structure ... the last placement was quite over-subscribed, they are getting discovered, it seems As for timing [always a concern] - stock has had an healthy retrace and is now settling in the area of tops from three and four months ago, on its 50-day as well, appears to be good support within a strong overall trend - stockcharts.com Company website - kootenaygold.ca Thread - Subject 57157 This is my largest position, has been for a while, find it difficult to be dispassionate on the matter, so largely refrain from saying much about it beyond that, nobody likes a one-note johnny ... as for the recommendation button, few seem to use it, i rarely do, and only then when somebody mentions it ... which you're doing, so that should work fine -g- ... cheers
