Your story and Obama's are typical of most Americans born in America. Mine is similar.

I keep a picture on the mantle of the log house that one of my ancestors lived in and raised a family of 11 children as a reminder of their struggles and our humble beginnings.

They were tough pioneers. There are now 100's of descendants scattered worldwide benefitting society in their own way.
