Ultimate Bet's new bonus system, RAISE, is a poorly designed system that has a lot of holes in it. I love stuff like that. Here are some of the ways it can be flim-flammed:

1. Stud games earn much quicker rewards than hold em games played at the same stakes. UB only gives points when you put money into a hand and the hand is raked. With the full table hold em games (which include Omaha), you are only forced to put money into the pot twice every ten hands, which equals 20%. Duh! With stud games, you ante every single hand, which equals 100%. True, you sometimes voluntarily put money into hold em games, but stud still produces many more points than the community card games for the same stakes.

2. Limit games produce more points than big bet games at lower stakes. Using hold em or Omaha as examples, a limit $5-$10 game has blinds of $2.50-$5. A no limit or pot limit game at $5-$10 has blinds of $5 and $10. Yet, the rewards are generated at the same rate.

3. Six handed games produce more points than full table, 10 handed games in the community games. Obviously, you put in more blinds every six hands than every ten hands.

4. The size of pots do not matter, as long as they are raked.

5. Larger stakes earn rewards quicker than smaller stakes. This is true of all reward programs.

6. You can use raise points to redeem cash bonuses without losing the points. Which means that cashing in your bonuses does not interfere with using UB points to enter expensive tournaments, or to buy that Aston-Martin you've been looking at. BTW, that last one requires one heck of a lot of points. <G>
