A tax is close enough to the opposite of a subsidy. I said narrow "targeted" tax breaks are similar to subsidies not taxes in general.

I prefer broad cuts, not "we will give you this tax break if you do that, and that tax break if you do this, and then if you stand on your head, and cluck like a chicken we will give you another tax break..."

Excessive taxation has the effect of impeding business and business development.

I agree.
