I see Fannie, Freddie and Countrywide are among the 5 biggest decreases. Maybe there is a perception that systemic risk is under control, so cover the financial shorts and short the PM's. Just a guess. I see that Fitch lowered MBIA's rating, Sinclair says it is the most significant development yet in this unfolding crisis, so although we may be briefly in a small clearing, doesn't seem like we are out of the woods by a long shot.
