Russ, I don't buy it. Love of culure, climate and language doesn't lure an older man to leave his family and friends to a third world country half way around the world. Long vacation, yes. Permanent residency, no.

You are working very hard to learn a foreign language and get approval for permanent residency. In my opinion, there are only 2 reasons why an older man does this.....sex and money.

A man of means can travel all around the world to enjoy wonderful cultures and climates.

Your complaint of inflation at your favorite bar and grill was more than just an observation. You said that it made you change your mind and just drink and eat at home instead of enjoying their happy hour. The difference in cost between happy hour at your favorite bar and drinking/eating at home is maybe $12?

Good luck Russ. I previously enjoyed your thoughts and hope you truly are making a killing in the markets as you claim.
