Just talked to Sis on the phone. Her last week included a number of incidents, including one of her fourth graders being stopped by police. Another kid was getting a drink from a drinking fountain when a girl came up and kneed him really hard on the butt. He came to my sister, who motioned the girl over. "Now if he is standing here with me, why do you suppose that is?" she asked. "I gave him the corncob," the girl says. Obviously, she had experience with the term. Another kid came to school in his pajamas. These are third and fourth graders! Not an inner city school, either.
