My brother used to trap squirrels in those Hav-a-Heart traps. Then he would kill them with a pellet rifle. My aunt was too big-hearted to shoot the squirrels. She would toss the trap, squirrel and all, in a big tub of water. It always seemed to me that drowning was kind of an unnatural way for a squirrel to die.
