Malls are empty. Correction, yesterday, Saturday, people were walking around with very few with bags....verrrrry few. Sears, the Bay were empty. I saw more than once 2-3 clients for 1 full floor!!!! My wife was also stunned. However, many were walking around in the mall...I mean with kids...it`s a lifesaver on a rainy Saturday afternoon. I saw this both in Montreal and Quebec city. Just my view, but it sure concures with most (if not all) company stock prices. TGT, SHLD, CA:ron , HD,CC, HD , F , gm , TM, HMC , WAG...,BCB ,ca:PJC.a And the trucking companies are collapsing. YRCW (largest in the US!!!!) , ca:TIF.un (largest in Canada) Airline companiesand leasure: AMR, CCL, FDX, Housing: HGX index Banks: all banks some say with all this negative that it`s time to buy. Well, maybe, but with almost 0% rates, high commodity prices, house prices crashing hard everywhere (even here in Canada it has started...less severe than US however), other than printing quadrillions more of dollars and giving them away (eg cutting income tax, 0% emergency morgage rates, 0% car loans..oups we allready have those, I see no stimulus whatsoever. Forget about China or Bric or whatever. US is still in 2008 the largest economy in the World (15 trillion GDP, Japan 2nd with 4.5 trillion!..) so expect a World recession in the next year or years(who in the hell knows) but you don`t have a massive boom Worldwide without a massive bust imo. And also, look around...people have bought alllll they can. 1,2,3 houses, 1,2,3 cars, etc. So this orgy of buying can only produce an orgy of selling. I am very bearish and will not be influence by anyone saying otherwise. Government statistics are completely fudged. My advice: preserve your cash and buy alll the gold on earth. Don`t use margins and only buy what you can afford to sit on and wait. Yes, it could fluctuate 100-200$ in both directions but in 5 years from now it will surely beat any bond on Earth. No paper currency have survived 100 years. Gold 5000 years and will always be MONEY. period soon, the World will only want gold. Regardless of Governments efforts to scare people away, it won`t matter squat to the economy. un-quote
