That's funny, you need a study to know this?

Let me express this about Brazil in two ways. Which of the two following scenes works best for your particular brain waves and libido.

A day in Seattle: You are walking around Green Lake with a 50 year old American woman with a very large rear end. You are speaking in English, conversation is easier, but not very challenging. It is 45 degrees, and there is a cold wind and it's overcast. The scene is pleasant enough, but it's pretty routine when you've been here most of your life.

Afterwards you go to a restaurant. The service is kind of rushed and there is a line waiting to get in. There is no social interaction with others there. In fact if you were to speak to someone, the response would be civil, but mostly unresponsive. If you spoke to a kid, the police might be called in. The bill comes for two, it is $33 (but at least there are health inspectors), and your girl friend offers to pick up half. You leave hardly noticed.

After leaving the restaurant you cross the street. The sidewalks are completely abandoned. An oncoming car politely breaks for you as you cross, the driver looks annoyed. You go to your car, drive off, it's still gray out, and you are bored out of your mind. Sex, what's that?

A day in Rio de Janerio: You are walking along the praia, it is 76 degrees, and the sun is out, and there is a nice breeze. The sea is green, and there are exotic green plants everywhere. You are with a 43 year old Brasileria (I'm 56, and forget about 28 year olds unless you want to pay through the nose, and spoon feed them baby food) with a nice trim butt and figure (almost universal). The conversation is in mixed Portuguese and English. It is not easy, you must focus, and listen closely, and this requires a "special personal interaction" that is challenging.

Afterwards you go to a restaurant. There is someone on the sidewalk who spots you and brings you in. Then the service is attentive, everybody hustles. There are exchanges with people at other tables. People talk across the room. There is some milling around. The noise decibels are about twice an American establishment. If you talk to kids, they are curious, the parents almost appreciative. They may even try their hand at English, and you Portuguese. It's fun, so you hang around for a couple hours. In the US, you'd be looking at your watch after 35 minutes. The tab comes, it's $25 (health inspectors, perhaps not, but I'm a "risk taker"), and you pay it all. They thank you as you leave, and you shake hands with the help, and they beam.

Afterwards you snake through the sidewalk. It's lively, but there are zero annoyed looks. At the street crossing, I step out, my friend yells, "ohla ali!", the oncoming car barely breaks. The driver doesn't even see me. You walk away (no car), it's still green and sunny out, you feel stimulated. And sex, you betcha!

Have any more studies for me to read about myself? The part about erotic pictures, snakes, and staplers just "fascinates" me. Can hardly stand it.
