I can't believe these people are so evil that they want to concentrate power in a few big cities and let the rest of the country go to rot. That's what will happen if we lose the Electoral College. Candidates will campaign in New York, LA, SF, and a few other big cities, and forget all about the small states and rural areas. There is a reason for the Electoral College the same as the rest of the constitution that was hammered out by our founders at great cost and debate. To let a few seize power is just unconscionable.
