I finished middle of the pack. I didn't fair as well on Amistad, the pros I drew just went fishing, they didn't attempt to locate and fish the staging females, 7-12lbs would stack up in numbers it should have been easy. They made a very bad call and cancelled day 1 because of a wind advisory?...it was nice all day to calm! So the tournament was cut to 2days for the co-anglers and the pros who didn't make the 50 cut. They also made another bad call by cutting the co-anglers limit to 3 fish instead of 5 because they lost a lot of fish on Falcon. Well, the water was alot warmer and fish were already stressed from post spawn, Amistad was pre-spawn the bass were just getting ready to spawn and the females hadn't moved up on the beds yet. The water was much colder because its gin clear water. They will be moving on the beds this week. The big girls were staged up in the nearest deep water to the spawning flat, the bucks were on ever bush in shallow water, lots of beds in deeper water also..clear water is the big difference. The guys that figured it out were fishing schools of 7#+ bass! We weren't allowed to help the pros in any way! No info allowed at all on how or where to fish or find them? I'm surprised so many anglers didn't try harder to locate and fish these spots? Rock was the key factor on Falcon.
