Perhaps; but it is more likely, imo, that the short attention spans and misunderstanding about war in general, have just kicked in. This was totally predictable and doesn't come as a surprise to anyone, including Bush -- he knew when we went in the war could become protracted.

Then they were lying when they said it would take 6 months tops.

War can be extremely unpredictable -- they're not all like Grenada, The Falklands, or The Gulf War. This insurgency has proven to be tough.

It's really tough when the "insurgents" come from every group, and there are a lot of groups, in Iraq.

But you don't just pack your bags and go home because it is a tough fight. Well, France would.

Tough fight? It's freaking breaking the bank of our country. And we are not making any difference, the Iraqi's will eventually decide their own form of government, probably with an all out civil war. They have been doing this crap for 1000 years... the US military ain't going to change that in 6 years or 60 years.

I think most Americans realize that we cannot simply surrender to these people as the Dems would have us do.

Surrender to who? The Malakai government aka "Iran's puppet"? The Shia militias? The Sunnis who used to be the insurgents but are now our best friends 'cause we are giving them money and arms so when the civil war really starts they will have a chance?
