And an experienced Democratic operative e-mailed: “Finally, I think [McCain’s] going to win. Obama isn’t growing in stature. Once I thought he could be Jimmy Carter, but now he reminds me more of Michael Dukakis with the flag lapel thing and defending Wright. Plus he doesn’t have a clue how to talk to the middle class. He’s in the Stevenson reform mold out of Illinois, with a dash of Harvard disease thrown in.” Obama is Jimmy Carter all right. Not the Southern governor who presented himself as a moderate in 1976, but the current version, the one who has added senility to his native sanctimony. Just look at how many Carter advisors surround Obama now! It's this far left blame-America-first streak that will doom Obama - IF McCain's campaign can imprint it into the minds of independent voters.

Nadine's response to this is very eloquent, and I agree with her. However, if people like Bill Kristol could get out of their own way, and support the candidate we have, we would have a greater chance of winning. Obama seems to get about $40 million a month, for heaven only knows where....Are they Wright's or Farrakhan's people, or the New Black Panthers and others similar? Or unions? Or Trial Lawyers? Or all of the above and then some...? McCain is limping along with $15 million this last month generated....Who is helping him? Do Republicans really want the Socialists to take over the Government? It took us years to recover from Carter's 4 years....how long would it take Obama,and certainly if there is a Dem House and Senate....
