Your students might not be at a level where they can understand the difference between a direct democracy and a representative one.

I have studied Civics and have read the Constitution.

Nowhere in either did I find anything about "The country shall be run on poll results".

You do know that the outcome of a poll is determined largely by the questions that are asked and how they are asked?

The only polls that matter are ELECTIONS.
