Having lived at one point in Mexico, I can assure you that though it has a lot of great things going for it, there are clouds on the horizon.

Oil is running out, and oil funds a huge part of the federal government's operations. Not good, especially since drug violence, particularly in the border region, has gone ballistic, NPI.

A sizable group of the Mexican Army's Special Forces groups had enough of low pay and joined one of the drug cartels as enforcers, murderers, etc. A really bad sign which has required that the Mexican Army take over policing at least one border city, Juarez. The death toll is huge. These folks are no longer just shooting it out with AKs but are now using RPGs and grenades. Some reports are discussing the use by the bad guys of surface to air weapons to knock out helicopters and airplanes.

Things will really get bad when the US economy results in less money being sent across the border by the illegals.

Oh, you were joshing...sorry for the rant.
