The US population has never turned against a worthwhile war. In fact they have been too supportive of bad wars.

That's your opinion. The US population has turned against the war in Iraq, yet, in the view of many (including me) it is worthwhile, and in fact, essential.

The fact is that most Americans are too ignorant to understand whether a war is "worthwhile" or not. They are inflamed by an unduly noisy Left, and not well-informed enough to know what the issues at stake are.

I'm not talking about the Left-leaning extremists posting here, or the extreme Right (which are not represented here). I'm talking about the Average American who gets his information from an extreme Left media. These people just don't understand the issues.

For instance, in this war, they've been told by Chris Matthews, Jack Cafferty, the entire crews at CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC, and the NYT, that the war is not worthwhile -- and most do not even understand that they are getting extremely biased views of what is at stake and what is happening in Iraq. So, it is no wonder that they are of the view that we need to get out. If I relied on the liberal media for my information and didn't take time to understand the issues on my own, I would probably feel the same way. If I listened to neophyte politicians, like Clinton and Obama, how would I know that there has been a marked improvement in Iraq, that we are in fact fighting AQI in Iraq, and that losing in Iraq would embolden Iran and other terrorist support organizations? You wouldn't get that from any of the media.
