The American-Cubans as opposed to Cuban-Americans have no allegiance to anything other than a Castro free Cuba.... They assured Kennedy that the Cuban people would rise up and join their "invasion" consisting of what, 1400 people? With the support they got when they landed the WWII light bombers Kennedy was planning to send would have be cut to ribbons by superior jet aircraft. When it was clear they would not, Kennedy pulled the plug. Sounds like Chalabi in Iraq, doesn't it. Reminisce all you want with anecdotes of veterans, it won't change the facts of history.
