I have seen those statistics but I dont believe them for the average American. Yes, lots of people getting benefits that didnt pay for them but that isnt me. There is NO WAY I will EVER get back anywhere NEAR what I have paid in as I have paid THE MAXIMUM my entire working career. I would have been GLAD to accept my money back plus an interest rate say based upon the average treasury rate over the life of my contributions. Now BOTH my parents worked, both paid in, BOTH died at age 62 and got NOTHING other then the ridiculous death benefit.
Any young person who wasnt for Privatization has to be crazy.
