My daughter's biology teacher does not understand what a theory is, and thinks that antibiotics kill a virus. My son, when he took the same crappy class from her 4 years ago, raised his hand and disagreed with her, only to be shut out and shut up. 25% of her grading is capriciously arbitrary and about the organization of their notebook. Seriously... The thing about organization is that if you aren't, it might affect your work, but that's the penalty. Making that the point of biology only illustrates her incompetence. We tried to get our daughter out of that class but the school refused. In truth, the others are as bad. There are a few good ones, for those who haven't been snuffed out. And this is at the top, or nearly top, public HS in Seattle.
