We are all for not burdening the masses with higher taxes. However, both Obama's and Hillary's plan increases taxes for the top 1% only and reduces taxes for the other 99%. So Michael simply doesn't have his facts nor his conclusions straight when he claims that Dems will tax the masses at higher rates and that will lead to the Great Depression.

I think obama is positioning himself on the left wing for primary purposes. He is going to have to shift to the center. When the tax reform of the 80s led by bill bradley occurred highest rate was in the 20s at first. They quickly realized they had undershot a bit and i think created a higher rate of 31% to make up for shortfall. Now we are talking about moving to 40 as a good thing. This will not be a solution to the deficit, it will excaserbate it by slowing growth and reducing revenues. You cant just end deficits overnight. Its as hard as just pulling out of iraq without a plan. MM shows the patience of a fanatic in this regard. He wants it perfect by tomorrow. I want it better in a few years and it is my hope we can fix this thru reduced spending and perhaps another round of true tax reform, that is revenue neutral in year one but will increase revenue thru growth going forward.
