Truman was down to 24% during another war.

But 31% is about right -- 30% of the country is hard-core liberals who have hated the man from the day he was elected, so the 40% point swing consists of those who are influenced by the war.

Nothing surprising about it. That's why you don't run wars based on polling data; nobody WANTS to be at war.

Look, you pine bluff bozo, you talk about war like its a game of cards. Bush's ratings are at 28%, not 31% and he is not only hated but vilified. And crazy punks like you are hated worse.

I admit that it's "downright amazing" that 31% of the people might still approve of Bush.

"nobody WANTS to be at war"

Yes, that's probably true, but do you actually think that's the ONLY reason that people don't like Bush? Don't you think that some people aren't too happy about the extra $3 Trillion in DEBT we've piled up since he came in? Don't you think that seeing our National Currency going down the tubes could tick some people off? Couldn't it be bothering people that bin Laden is STILL around and sending out videos and will probably still be after Bush is out of office? I don't suppose you would think that people might be upset about the worst housing market in the last 25 years?

Bush is disliked for a LOT more than Iraq (and justifiably so).
