Balance the budget for sure after you get the economy running well again. Bush screwed up the economy. Dems need to fix it, and not just balance budget on day 1 or replace borrow and spend with tax and spend. What this really says is that there shouldnt be any major new programs until the economy is out of recession. Then we can talk tax reform, and pick some worthwhile new programs like health care to put forth. Bush post 2003 screwed up everything and it will take years to make better. First two years of next president must be based on patience.

Bingo, seminole. Arguments like that are just evidence of a closed mind. Someone who refuses to ever criticize the party they are affiliated with is just a sheep. It takes an independent minded, critical thinker to lay the blame where it belongs, even when it belongs to the party you have affiliated yourself with your whole life. That's why I defended Bush for 4 years, until I ran out of excuses for him. Then I voted for Kerry. Enough is enough.
