I met a Rockefeller once. I was taking inventory plots on forest land, and he had a lot of it. His estate was some 20,000 acres, in Franklin County NY.

At the top of a hill he had a strange building, almost like a fire lookout but with high windows. I asked him what the building was for, and he says "Oh, we use that in the fall to come and watch the deer mate."

There were a great many deer on this huge estate, more than I saw anyplace else in New York. He kept it that way by keeping hunters out. The boundaries were cleared and during the hunting season he would have riders out patrolling them.

I heard later that this Rockefeller committed suicide with a shotgun. Maybe that's why I can't find him on the internet. I thought his given name was George. Could be mistaken.

Re the very liberal John “Jay “ Rockefeller

"As a great-grandson of oil tycoon John D. Rockefeller, he is the only current politician of the prominent six-generation Rockefeller family and the only Democrat in what has been traditionally progressive, Republican dynasty."

en.wikipedia.org

Old John D Rockefeller must be turning over and over in his grave….this greatgrandson isn’t exactly anyone’s idea of much of anything except a dedicated liberal socialist.
