How you gonna judge this? What benchmark? So far, based on using man's inhumanity to man, we are devolving."

KOAN: "I do not think we are devolving. The world no long recognizes slavery, segregation, or bigotry as being OK.

In all of pre 20th century history that was never the case. Slavery was pervasive until the 20th century. Segregation was pervasive until the 60's and women did not even get the vote until 1919.

Today if anyone even hints at the N word people are appalled, as they should be. And we do not even publicly tolerate harrassment, or discrimination of women, or anyone today. Our collective consciousness is evolving as we become more educated and aware of our existence and what consitutes myths and bigoted behavior.

And as for the canery in the coal mine analogy, women wordwide are quickly gaining equality with men, as they should have. Women have been categorically decriminated against for all of history.

Every major religion, and every major culture, in the world, for example, until recently, treated women as second class citizens.

I am a man by the way-lol.
