Remember the time period when Plato wrote. I was thinking more of his insight put forth in: "The Allegory of The Cave". I am aware of their elitist ideas and especailly their defense fo slavery.

It would have been a bit much to expect the ancient Greeks to get too far ahead of the rest of mankind at the time, who were mostly living more or less like clever animals.

If you examine the writings around the world for the next 2,000 years after the ancient Greeks you will find very few thinkers who can even stand in the shadows of Plato, Socrates, Arisotle, Thrasyacus and hundreds of other exceptional greek thinkers of the time. Or match their discoveries, like their general ideas, math and sequential logic.

I wrote a paper on that subject in college. I found none!
