There are many options to energy independence. Any rational plan includes nuclear energy. What must be recognized is the discussion will not be rational. Many issues of energy are semi religious.

All of this solar stuff is noise. Whatever solar power is put in place will need backup capacity from traditional sources. This is a dream that needs to demonstrated - and relied on.
