I think heinz is over on stockhouse, (Omaha Beach division), defending the Lth's that are trying to land. Last I heard he was pinned down by Sturmgehwer 43's which were falling short. I think he needs more zinc plated ammo.

I understand they commemorate a CDN division which got lost trying to find a party house in a nearby fr. village and this ended up being the biggest advance of the war. Tankards or some such thing had something to do with it.

I believe the German army may give a belated Knight's Cross to Sam Hughes, for his sterling efforts to abate any significant allied progress. The Ross Rifle was a pure stroke of genius. Designed to fail just when a defending or attacking troop most needed it.

It helped considerably that CDNs finally had a co-ordinated barrage, very dense, could advance behind tanks, and outnumbered the enemy. They were also by that time of high morale, and well trained.

Flag of Vimy's time in Canada.

Troops from Canada fought under the Union Jack as members of the British Expedictionary Force.

It is worth noting that at no time did they engage the US army in combat.

Both the US and the CDN's used similar weapons, namely the Pattern 14 Mauser Action Enfield and the M1917, chambered for different rounds. Practically an identical weapon.
