There is no one magic bullect that can fix what is wrong with us, but there are things that can be done to fix things.

The answer is not to be dogmatic. Market fundamentalists lobby heavily to get government out of doing anything. It is obvious there are functions that government can do that individuals and the private sector can not do. And it is obvious there are certain things that should be left to the private sector.

Health care is one of those things that only government can do and do it more efficiently. The auto industry is one glaring example when the obstruction of a national health care plan hurts everybody.

By placing the burden of health care costs on the auto industry not only hurts the auto industry but puts the entire economy at a disadvantage when competing in the global economy.
