Most of the US's climate is not favorable enough for sugar cane. (Brazil can get 3 crops a year). Hopefully the solution for us is the conversion of rapidly growing plants (someone here name the one they are working on) into starch then sugar then ethanol via the use of enzyemes. This would free up corn for its traditional uses.

You have a good day also.

Using corn to make ethanol is about as stupid as it gets. What's annoying is that every and their brother in Congress has endorsed it. Can you please tell me why our leaders are so stupid? Oh wait, I forgot the farm lobby is huge.

This country needs to start running on practicalities and not what's politically expedient.
