Actually, in the case I cited, it was an Indian firm that developed the GMO. It wasn't approved yet for release, but farmers took the seeds anyway. Had nothing to do with Monsanto or its patents.

Anyway, that was my point - all the ire directed against Monsanto won't have much effect. They don't have a monopoly on GMO and lots of foreign firms are busily creating new seeds. This war has already been lost.
