People like you and McCain don't understand the differences between the Shias and Sunnis. You don't understand the politics of the region.

No, I don't -- and I suspect that you can't fully appreciate the differences unless you have spent a lot of time in the region, which I certainly haven't done.

But people are motivated by their common interests, and there ARE common interests. Eventually, this will be resolved -- not to our perfect satisfaction, but a level that can bring peace and a reasonable degree of security to Iraq. That's all that is required.

The biggest concern is that their next-door neighbor has a terrorist as a president -- one who wants war against the United States. If they can't get rid of him, we may have to. Ideally, the CIA would just kill him. But if that cannot be done, he has to be eliminated some other way.
