Military action does not win heart and minds when the people being killed are the fathers, brothers, friends and sons of the people that live in the country you're killing them in.

You are wrong, ask the Japanese. But then again, smart Mac Arthur "The American Caesar" also did leave Hirohito in place for them to hang on to after the war was over.
