First Solar needs to put more cash in the bank. With a $20 billion market cap, they should take the opportunity to raise another $5billion. Its serious money and significant dilution, but being number #1 in solar means deep pockets will be hugely important.

The cash will offer significant downside protection for the stock, the ability to buy competitors, bring in partners, invest in capex on their timeframe and even provide a few hundred million in annual cash flow. Or roughly a year of earnings.
