"testifying before Congress today about the effects of the troop surge." All good and well. Too bad though that we can't have some politician on the record to testify about the effect of the actual STRATEGY our nation is reputedly employing.... To advance this 'public debate' to the higher plain where it should be: focused on the concept and implementation of long-term strategic goals... and the rational assessment of progress/failure & cost-effectiveness. 'Tactics' I assume are professionally delivered... my questions revolve around the GOALS and the STRATEGIES.
