I dont want to keep beating a dead horse here with my worry regarding higher taxes for so-called rich. I also dont want to end up being this threads Larry Kudlow.
My point regarding taxes is that the obama position is not a slam dunk for him. Americans from all economic strata continue to confound pundits in their rejection of class warfare taxation schemes. Now this cycle may be different because we are in a deepening recession and class warfare generally works better in this scenario. But Americans have an optimistic streak in them that says we want and expect to be rich too one day and we want to keep what we earn. This is far different from the european mindset for example. So Obamanomics with the tax the rich theme may just backfire in the general election if mccain can generate reagan optimism in individual selves.
I want to get out of this recession as fast as we can and move back to that type of optimism. However the world has changed and what we need as well as reagan optimism is a visionary in the White House that can resolve the fundamental issues that face this nation collectively in areas that private enterprise cant resolve alone. Things like health care, retirement, infrastructure, energy, foreign policy based on realism..... Dont get bogged down on taxation because it will bite for one thing and it will prevent the prereq for solving listed problems which is GROWTH.

64% on last dollar earned is well beyond a fairshare for a family making 200,001 dollars. It also cripples growth. Its you who are pushing voodoo economics---that is prosperity can exist with end tax rates in the sixties. Thats beyond voodoo.
Now i agree trickle down isnt enough but its one part. Lifting all boats is another.

What I said was that we should to the way it was before Bush cut taxes. I don't think that's 64% of the $200,001 dollar.

BTW doesn't it bother you that 1% of the population owns, I think, its 38% of the nation's resources?
