They only use it because it is cheap, and its getting cheaper.

Can you document that? Not finding credible price quotes from free sources..

Hard to imagine it's getting cheaper when demand for it is going up..

One of the many reasons for FSLR to do a $5billion offering, it sends a clear message to their supply chain. Larger orders will be coming from a credit worthy customer. Ramp up.

Whether it is from the materials side, capex side or even government negotiations, $5 billion in the bank means they will deal from a position of great strength.

Plus, larger orders should get them a greater discount on both materials and capex. Which accelerates the move to equivalency with other power generation approaches.
