I thought there was a "deal" between airlines where they didn't have to pay top dollar.

So flights are booked, airline tickets in general keep going higher in price even though we are in the greatest credit and housing crunch of our lifetime with apparent overcapacity running rampant throughout our economy? The power of monetary policy, lack of fiscal discipline, survival of the fittest in setting pricing power and the oil man perhaps trump depression or deflation?
