Before reading that I hadn't considered the added complexity of trying to make a tricky maneuver to avoid an accident on the Beltway while the car was dithering over which energy source to use.

I don't get it. I don't need the grief. I don't know why anyone would seek it out. Maybe someone who logs lots of miles and was very gas-price sensitive. Or a environmental true-believr. I can see to for a fifty mile daily commute in stop and go traffic. Maybe for a soccer mom who takes a lot of short trips in town. Not for me.
