The thing about that quote is if you change it a little (no reddening face, no "you cunt") it becomes a totally different situation, just a couple of spouses teasing each other. I interned for the state attorney's office when I was a youngster. Took a DUI case to trial ... in his report the arresting officer said the defendant's face was flushed from alcohol, his speech was impaired, and he was unsteady on his feet, which was part of the basis for arresting him. So we get to trial and I see the defendant for the first time ... he is black as coal, has a severe speech impediment, and is extremely bowlegged. The jury did the right thing and found him not guilty. Sometimes people can witness something and come away with a totally wrong impression.
