My daughter's dog Ruby raised three litters of outstanding springer spaniel puppies, including my own dog Daisy and her other dog Mister Big.

One thing she did with all the puppies, which I think was more than two dozen survivors out of nearly 30 total, was to carry each one around in her bra wrapped in a towel for awhile each day. She called them 'puppy burritos.' Every puppy turned out to be a loving and wonderful pet.

Mister Big still like to rest his head on her chest after five years.

Nikki was spoiled...but she did have manners. She always left her chair when I came in, so that I could sit there if I wanted...

A cardinal rule in this house is going to be, no dogs on furniture. Never.
