"It seems to me that Obama accepted the good in the man and his church and overlooked the small amount of bad (small being relative- but to me it's a small issue, in the greater scheme of things.)"

The home team pass here is huge - but at least admitted!

Mme,

I don't think it is a different issue. Steve's criticism of HC was based on who she is having around her. Obama has had the reverend around him for 20 years. If you are going to say HC has fault in who she has around her then Obama deserves the same criticism. And you can spin it that HC's people are only there to make her look like she is electable and aren't really important in her policy making decisions. The reverend has been with Obama for 20 years. From this perspective, you can decide who may have more influence over the candidate's policies and who should be a greater liability to have had around.

Is this the only way to "define" Obama? Of course not. But if you are going to criticize HC for it then Obama deserves some criticism here as well. I don't get the issue that many Obama supporters have with any criticism of him. This type of thinking is what I am guessing caused that poll result several weeks ago that said that more HC supporters would not support Obama. I think the one sidedness of many that support Obama just turns HC supporters off.

The running of the campaign issue is an interesting issue in itself. One can look at this and say that HC has not run a good campaign and how does that reflect on her ability to run the country. I think that is a valid criticism. I think there are some mitigating circumstances with how the press has treated her vs Obama but as a HC supporter, this bothers me. It does look like Obama has run a better campaign and this is a plus for him in my eyes. But is it because he has less to fight off in terms of the press? Probably, but it is impressive just the same in my eyes.
