If North American governments wants to ween themselves off the middle east oil tit, wake up and do a chinese copy of what other counties are doing re solar, wind, wave, and tidal, not the stupid folly of turning scarce food into fuel.

“We have people who check the people who check the people who check the people who check your aircraft” or “For every hour’s flying time, Lufthansa puts in 22 technician hours”

I very much like the idea of Germans taking care of aircraft. American Airlines and Southwest wouldn't have the problems they do with maintenance if Teutons had done the job with typical Teutonic efficiency.

Do you propose a crew of samba-ing, cachaca-fueled Brazilians? I'll take the systematic krauts any day.

I love Audis. Might get one for my next car.

I had a 1973 2002 BMW in my younger days. Absolutely loved that car.

I have no problem with the Brazilians exporting their soccer stars, however.
