Sam,

I believe you are misreading what I am saying or maybe I am not expressing myself well. The original post was criticizing HC for the people she surrounded herself with. All I am saying is that if you do that, you have to say that Obama should be open to criticism for the people he has had around. No matter how you may want to excuse some of what the reverend says, he is a liability, wouldn't you agree? I passed no judgement on the reverend except to say that he was being viewed as a negative influence and Obama is open to criticism for having had him around as a potential influence for 20 years. The fact that he is not around the campaign anymore in even the minutest of ways makes me feel my judgement is correct on this.

Neal

Sam -

I completely agree with you.

Another thing that's important to realize about Wright, and which his vociferous critics miss, is that the vast majority of his sermons were about Jesus' love, self reliance, and other non-controversial Christian topics.

People have taken a few sermons out of thousands, and formed a judgement based on that. That's their right, but it doesn't make them correct.
