Whose said they were eradicated? And why do you exaggerate their capabilities? Their terrorist attacks are fairly infrequent, and with the exception of 9/11 which the right has turned into the blitzkrieg of NYC, are relatively unimaginative and smallish.

Smallish? Are you FREAKING NUTS? Unimaginative? You're a damned lunatic. Nobody in his right mind would make such a remark.

I can assure you there are friends and family of some 3,000 dead Americans who don't feel it was either smallish or unimaginative. Plus a lot of people who comprehend just what kind of exposure we have.

Were it not a serious continuing threat, we would not be taking the time and effort to scan 10s of millions of containers for nuclear radiation. We would not be putting Americans through the ringer before they board aircraft. Fool.

But its primary purpose was to build roads and infrastructure.

No, it wasn't. You're confusing MSB with his bringing heavy engineering equipment to Afghanistan to do some roadwork and build training facilities to fight the Soviets.

MSB was formed specifically to recruit people with the backgrounds they needed, and included people from all walks of life -- from physicians to drug smugglers. The idea, when MSB was formed, was for them to be used in Afghanistan (early 80s). Ten years later, they had offices in 50 countries, including the United States, used as recruitment facilities for the upcoming jihad against America. While many are now dead or out of the picture, the process has continued. Not, as has been suggested, as a result of the Iraq war -- but in furtherance of their objective of destroying the United States.

I have a feeling that if some of the Left developed some understanding of these issues, there would be more support for fighting them and a better understanding of the fact that it our very freedom and existence we are fighting for.

As it stands, people like you and Z just blow it off -- a lucky one in a million shot. For these people the jihad is timeless. There is no rush. They can hit us in 5 years or 50, it doesn't matter, as long as the next one is bigger than the last.

You can't crush them? You must. There is no alternative but to condemn our children to a lifetime of dealing with these fanatics after they have nuclear, biological and chemical weapons -- all of which will eventually happen if they aren't elimninated.
