Son hooked on swimming since he started swimming lessons at age of 2 1/2. Now, at 11, swims 3 or 4 times a week [more if a meet is scheduled] for a minimum of 1 1/2 hours under the supervision of The Swimming Dominatrix. Has been doing so since learning. Has developed physically very well, broad shoulders, strong, etc. The secret to boys is to get them tired. The secret to girls is a mystery to me. Don't have any, obviously, and no prospect of one any more. But sports and exercise are definitely key for any child's healthy development.i am not counting on my ability to predict specific twists and turns as a strategic advantage to successfully navigate . Neither am I, though I think I can do a yeoman's job of prediction, as good as [mostly] everyone except, of course, the cocksure ones who know, just know, what's going to happen until it doesn't. Took a smallish position in IOO, thinking as follows [definitely not news to you]: since last August market has not done well but it has not crashed despite tons and tons and more tons and tons of bad news. And gold, the perfect baro/thermometer has stabilized and, indeed, gone back a bit. Perhaps BurnUndKaput is a good market timer, perhaps the Bear Stearns bailout was exquisite market timing, who knows, but fact is, let's face it, market has not crashed despite lots of opportunities to do so. So, perhaps it is time to stock up on the fine companies that make up IOO just in case Direness has been postponed a bit. Have not sold gold [added a bit, actually], SKF, Swissie, SRS, etc., all the standard bear stuff, but thinking that it might be time to stick head out of trench for a look-see. Hope said head does not get shot off.
