How about a stable work environment with equal opportunity?

I don't see a lot the executive branch can do on that front. What did you have in mind?

Health insurance, they could do something about.

Borders - perfectly closed borders is a fantasy that will never happen. I don't see why people cling to it; it reminds me of the dreamier people on the left who think that all war will end one day, or those on the right who believe that drugs and terror can be eradicated from the planet.

Controlling prices - that sounds much more like some socialist scheme. Price controls rarely work. Did you have something else in mind?

Seems to me that a significant part of this agenda either doesn't depend on the federal government or probably shouldn't.

How about some security with health insurance policy?

There will never again be job security, other than with the government, that is. It ain't gonna happen. That's on old model that won't fly anymore. Dwelling on it just makes people more bitter. And looking for it just holds people back from taking the steps they need to take to be successful in the future. There are ways for adaptive individuals to gain security, at least a reasonable amount of it, but not for everyone.

How about getting serious about controlling energy and food prices?

Price controls don't work. Very short term in an emergency situation, maybe, but not as a way of life. Can't happen. Won't happen. Shouldn't happen.

The borders--that's something that could reasonably go on the agenda.

How is a president supposed to create a stable work environment? And depending on exactly what you mean by stable such an environment may not exactly be a good thing.

How about not having our national borders open to every possible threat?

What are you going to do, build the Berlin Wall, or the Korean DMZ on the Mexican border?

How about getting serious about controlling energy and food prices?

Price controls are a VERY bad idea. The prices convey information about the balance of supply and demand, and encourage people to adjust to the balance. Control the prices, doesn't shift the supply and demand situation in a positive direction. It just causes the information to be lost, and the adjustment to not be made, or at least not be made as efficiently or to the same extent. Price ceilings often result in shortages, unless they are so high that they have no, or almost no, effect on the price paid, in which case they might not do any harm, but they can't do any good either.
